the Staff at First Presbyterian Church
Pastor Kirsten Klepfer (email@example.com)
Welcome to First Presbyterian Church of Grinnell! I am so glad you have taken the time to read about who we are and how we live out God's call to "do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with our God." I feel blessed and humbled to be pastor of such a welcoming, generous and committed congregation.
I believe that all people are invited, in fact called, to participate in the ministry and mission of the church; people of all races, sexual orientations, family structures, economic situations, mental or physical conditions. This is a community of people that offers many opportunities to live out this call, and offers a place of sanctuary, care, comfort and fellowship.
I would welcome the opportunity to talk with you more about our church, your spiritual journey, or about how I believe God speaks hope in a broken, hurting world. Please come by anytime, join us for worship, or call the office and set up a time to meet with me.
Office Manager, Sheryl Parmley (firstname.lastname@example.org)
I started September 1, 2015, as office manager. I have a diverse working background including insurance, telecommunications, legal and community involvement. I was looking for a part time position, and the skills I have got me hired for the position. I work mornings, 8:30 to noon.
I do a variety of office functions such as record keeping, report writing, payroll, facility scheduling, newsletter writing, order of worship/bulletin, and other duties.
I am a member of this church having served in various roles. My husband and I are the proud parents of two sons.
Director of Music, Lyn Howerzyl (email@example.com)
Music is very important to First Presbyterian Church. It is a pleasure to use my gifts of music in a place such as this. I conduct a volunteer choir from September to May, which is made up of men, women, college students, and youth. We sing an anthem each service. I play an organ prelude, offertory, and postlude, as well as accompanying the congregational singing. First Presbyterian has purchased two octaves of hand bells, and we have used them during different seasons of the church. I began here in 2005.
Nursery Attendant, Amber Martenson
Amber loves to work in the nursery and the children enjoy her attentiveness. She is a junior at East Marshall High School where she participates in volleyball, basketball, softball, band and vocal music. Amber is also a 4-H member and is highly-skilled with showing her rabbits. She also has had several county fair projects chosen for State Fair.
Custodian, Angela Davis
I have been married to my husband, Andy, for 6 years. We have two children, a boy and girl. Heather was married in 2013 and Ryan is in college. We are the proud grandparents of two grandchildren. I am also a custodian at Grinnell College. My family likes to camp and bike.
